Can Binding Quilts bind our world to Peace? The world is getting smaller and the strength of the quilting community is tightening our bonds across borders.
This is clearly visible by such projects as the Worldwide Quilting Exchange that has been taking place every year since 2000.
This project was developed by Gerry Eitner, Founder of Communities of Peace and “involved children from 23 different countries worldwide who added their own unique patchwork themed on peace.”
“Eitner says the quilts have taken on an inexplicable power because they were made by children with hopes of peace. “
You can check out the video on You Tube to see a small impact the quilts have had. “The quilts actually contains an energy,” says Eitner.
Officially called the Children’s Cloth of Many Colors, the quilts were be on display on the West Lawn of the Capitol on Saturday 9th August at 5 p.m.
I would love to know if anyone has images or contact details on where the Children’s cloth of many colours can be viewed online.
